I build apps, tools and creative projects to help me understand things more clearly.

Sound / Art / Tools / Health

How I got here

Signal Continuum is the place I put the work that starts with lived experience and becomes a tool, project or experiment.

I'm Nicholas: a musician, artist and sound engineer based in London.

I've spent years working with bands, sound, visual arts and performing artists.

I initially started building apps because I had real audio and creative problems I wanted to solve.

Learning to build those tools opened up a new possibility.

I began experimenting with apps outside of sound: apps that could create art, apps that could help my girlfriend and her children interact more with cooking and planning dinners, and apps that could help festival goers recover after a heavy weekend.

I've had gut-health issues for years.

So I started building a tool to understand my own food, symptoms and metabolic health more clearly.

Signal Continuum is the space for that kind of work.

Work

Some ideas become serious tools. Some are experiments. Some are just made for the pleasure of making.

01

Gut & Metabolic Health

A research and development project for understanding food, symptoms, habits and metabolic health more clearly at an individual level.

In development. Not medical advice or a clinical service.

02

Sonic Graffiti

An exploration of the relationship between sound, nature, technology and physical place.

03

Creative Tools & Experiments

Apps and prototypes for music creation, DJs, festivals, cooking, planning, playful recovery, accessible experimental sound art and artist collaboration.

The point

I wasn't a software entrepreneur looking for a health problem. I had problems I wanted to understand, and I learned enough about technology to start building around them.
